Katerina Pournara is an Attorney at Law admitted before the Supreme Court (Areios Pagos), a member of the Athens Bar Association, a graduate of the Faculty of Law of the University of Athens, and holds a Master’s degree (LL.M.) in European Economic Criminal Law from the University of Luxembourg. With years of active litigation practice, she has focused her professional career on criminal law and human rights protection. She handles cases at all stages of the criminal procedure, representing both defendants and crime victims, with particular expertise in economic criminal law, juvenile justice, as well as extradition proceedings under the European Convention on Extradition and the execution of European Arrest Warrants.

The protection of the rights of vulnerable groups holds a prominent place in her career. She has served as a member of the Legal Support Team of KETHEA, a legal expert in the Council of Europe’s JustROM program for Roma women’s access to justice, and an attorney in the Street Lawyering project providing legal support to the unhoused population. Additionally, she has served as Vice-President and Board Member of the Hellenic League for Human Rights, as well as an alternate member of the National Commission for Human Rights and the National Council Against Racism and Intolerance.

Her academic and institutional involvement also includes participating in drafting committees of the Ministry of Justice and European working groups on criminal cooperation issues—an experience that strengthens her expertise in cases with a transnational and European dimension.

She is a member of the Hellenic Criminal Bar Association and the LEAP network of legal experts of the international organization Fair Trials International.

Georgia Palaiologou is an Attorney at Law admitted before the Supreme Court (Areios Pagos) and a member of the Athens Bar Association, with years of presence in active litigation practice and criminal law. She is a graduate of the Law School of Democritus University of Thrace.

In the field of criminal law, she handles cases across the full spectrum of criminal proceedings—from defending accused persons before all levels of jurisdiction to representing victims of crime in supporting prosecution. She specializes in cases of transnational nature, such as extradition under the European Convention on Extradition and the execution of European Arrest Warrants, cybercrime cases, as well as tax criminal law matters.

Her career is marked by an unwavering commitment to the defense of human rights, strategic litigation, and active support for vulnerable social groups. She has served as a legal advisor to companies, international organizations, and Civil Society organizations. She has been a member of the Legal Support Team of KETHEA, a legal expert for the Council of Europe on issues concerning the protection of victims of human trafficking, and a member of a legal team supporting victims of domestic violence.

Her experience extends to key institutional and research fields through her participation in major national and European programs. She has served as a member of the working group for the Legal Aid Watch project of the Hellenic League for Human Rights aimed at improving legal aid in criminal justice, as well as in national working groups within the framework of European training programs and actions for the rights and protection mechanisms of pre-trial detainees.

She is a member of the Hellenic Criminal Bar Association and a member of the Legal Experts Advisory Panel (LEAP) network of the international organization Fair Trials International.
